Years ago, my family had a tabby cat named Patches with a persimmon nature, who lived all of her nine lives and then some. Despite her prickly nature, she was always nearby, pretending not to notice me. On sunny days, she'd nap on her blanket, soaking up the warmth. I captured this peaceful moment of her resting in the sun warming her bones in this painting.
